The Stock GLC-Class, C-Class Airflow Deficiency

The factory intake system on the Mercedes-Benz M276 3.0L Biturbo engine is engineered primarily for cabin NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) reduction rather than maximum flow. The OEM assembly utilizes narrow, corrugated plastic piping that creates significant internal turbulence and air resistance. Under increased boost loads, these restrictive pathways cause a pressure drop before the air even reaches the turbocharger compressors. Furthermore, the stock enclosed plastic boxes are highly susceptible to heat soak during spirited driving or in high-ambient temperatures, leading to elevated Intake Air Temperatures (IATs) that force the ECU to pull ignition timing, resulting in a noticeable loss of torque and horsepower.

The Engineering Solution

This V2 performance intake system eliminates these bottlenecks by utilizing oversized, smooth-bore intake tubes and an additional inlet adapter to maximize the volume of air available to the turbos. The kit features a high-quality, laser-cut heat shield designed to isolate the air filter from the radiant heat of the V6 engine bay, ensuring a denser oxygen charge. The heart of the system is a washable dry media filter, which provides high-flow filtration without the risk of oil-fouling sensitive Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensors. Constructed for durability and precision fitment, this direct bolt-on upgrade provides dyno-verified gains of +16 hp and +37.9nm at 3000rpm, while surfacing the aggressive acoustic profile of the twin-turbochargers and diverter valves.
