Mechanic’s Pro Tip (The "Gotcha"):
The 3.6L LY7/LLT engines in these Lambda-chassis vehicles are notorious for PCV oil blow-by pooling inside the factory intake snorkel. When removing the factory tube, keep it tilted upward so you don’t dump old oil all over your serpentine belt. Also, the plastic PCV breather clip gets extremely brittle from heat cycling—squeeze it gently and wiggle it off. Don’t pry on it, or it will shatter.

Phase 1: Removing the Factory Part

  1. Disconnect the Battery: Always start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal using a 10mm wrench to prevent accidental shorts and hard-coded check engine lights on your 2008-2011 Buick Enclave 3.6L.

  1. Prep the Heat Shield: Assemble your new aftermarket heat shield (and weather stripping, if applicable) on your workbench. Drop it into the factory mounting locations in the engine bay. Secure it using your 10mm socket and the provided mounting hardware.

  5. ECU Relearn Process: Reconnect the negative battery terminal with your 10mm wrench. Start the vehicle, but do not touch the gas pedal for at least 20 seconds. Let the vehicle idle so the ECU can adjust its fuel trims to the increased airflow dynamics of your 3.6L V6.
