What it Does: Replaces crack-prone OEM plastic end tanks with an all-aluminum, high-capacity cooling core engineered to maximize heat dissipation under heavy thermal loads.

The Stock Mountaineer Cooling Failure Points

Factory U152 cooling assemblies utilize thin-core aluminum crimped to composite plastic end tanks using synthetic rubber O-rings. Over continuous thermal cycling, the plastic tanks embrittle, micro-fracture, and fail at the crimp seams under standard system operating pressure. In addition, the factory single-row core restricts overall fluid capacity, resulting in rapid heat soak and elevated coolant temperatures during sustained hill climbs, heavy hauling, or severe ambient heat conditions on both Cologne and Modular platforms.

The Engineering Solution

This heavy-duty unit eliminates structural polymer weaknesses using 100% TIG-welded, aircraft-grade aluminum end tanks mated to a vacuum-brazed multi-row tube-and-fin core. The broadened cooling channels significantly increase total system coolant volume and fin surface area, facilitating rapid heat exchange and thermal stabilization. Configured without an internal automatic transmission fluid cooler for manual setups, this radiator drops directly into factory brackets while retaining OEM fan shroud and hose clearances.
