Under sustained load, the stock plastic airbox is prone to heat soak, as it lacks sufficient thermal insulation from the engine bay. This results in elevated intake manifold temperatures, causing the ECU to pull ignition timing to prevent knock, which directly reduces power output. Furthermore, the baffled design muffles the mechanical acoustics of the turbo spool and bypass valve, resulting in a disconnected driving experience.
