The Stock Avenger Airflow Restriction
The factory JS platform intake tract routes intake air through corrugated plastic piping straight into a cast-plastic intake manifold. At initial tip-in and lower engine speeds, abrupt cross-sectional transitions create boundary-layer turbulence right behind the throttle plate. This air disruption causes a slight latency in manifold pressure equalization, leading to noticeable tip-in lag and softer off-idle torque delivery before the variable valve timing reaches peak efficiency.
