Direct-Fit Replacement Starter Motor for 2009-2017 Chevrolet Traverse (Lambda)
What it Does: The replacement starter motor delivers high-torque cranking to the 2009-2017 Chevrolet Traverse flywheel to ensure rapid, dependable ignition turnover in all weather conditions.
The Stock Chevrolet Traverse Starter Heat-Soak Problem
On the Lambda platform equipped with the 3.6L LLT High Feature V6, the factory starter operates in close proximity to the exhaust plumbing and engine block. Continuous thermal cycling induces severe heat soak, deteriorating internal copper brushes and pitting solenoid contact plates. Over time, high electrical resistance builds up, causing characteristic single-click no-crank conditions, sluggish hot restarts, or complete drive gear engagement failure.
The Engineering Solution
Engineered to resolve heat-induced failure, this permanent magnet gear reduction (PMGR) unit produces 1.4 kW of cranking power while minimizing electrical amperage draw from the 12-volt system. It features high-grade copper windings, an insulated heavy-duty solenoid switch, and a hardened 12-tooth pinion drive gear that engages the ring gear smoothly to prevent tooth shear. Tested under dynamic load conditions, it drops directly onto the factory mounting flange with stock terminal orientation.
