The Stock GS Radiator Vulnerability

Factory S160 cooling assemblies utilize crimped, composite plastic end-tanks bonded to a single-row core. Over continuous thermal cycling, the plastic undergoes brittle degradation, leading to micro-fractures along the header plate crimps and upper tank neck. Furthermore, OEM core density is insufficient for sustained performance driving or high ambient temperatures, causing heat soak that compromises engine longevity and automatic transmission fluid stability.

The Engineering Solution

Constructed entirely from 2.0 mm AA5052 aircraft-grade aluminum, this unit features 100% TIG-welded tanks with a vacuum-brazed 3-row racing core. Cooling rows are pitched at 3/8-inch intervals with a dense 14-16 fins-per-inch (FPI) profile to maximize thermal transfer efficiency. It incorporates an internal brass transmission oil cooler (TOC), a CNC-machined billet filler neck, and an OEM-style brass petcock drain for long-term structural reliability without plastic fatigue.
