The Stock XF Thermal Weakness

Factory X250 cooling assemblies rely on crimped plastic end tanks paired with thin-core radiators that degrade rapidly under repeated thermal cycling. The heat generated by the AJ-V8 platform causes the stock polymer end tanks to embrittle, resulting in micro-fractures at the tank-to-core seams and inlet neck stress points. Additionally, restricted internal tube volume in factory cores accelerates heat soak during aggressive driving, compromising transmission fluid cooling and triggering thermal derating.

The Engineering Solution

This drop-in performance unit is constructed from 100% TIG-welded, 2 mm aircraft aluminum sheet with zero epoxy or plastic failure points. Featuring a high-efficiency 4-row crossflow configuration with 3/8-inch tube spacing and 14–16 fins per inch (FPI), it maximizes surface area for rapid heat dissipation. The vacuum-brazed core increases cooling capacity over OEM specifications, while the integrated internal transmission cooler maintains stable line temperatures to prevent fluid breakdown and transmission slippage.
