The Stock Safari Cooling Vulnerability

Factory M-body radiators utilize crimped plastic end-tanks bonded to an aluminum core via elastomer gaskets. Over years of thermal cycling, vibration, and pressure fluctuation, the plastic degrades and brittles, leading to seam separation and hairline fractures around the inlet/outlet necks. Furthermore, the confined engine bay of the GMT060 platform restricts natural passive airflow, causing the single-row factory core to saturate under heavy cargo loads, hill climbs, or high-ambient towing conditions.

The Engineering Solution

This heavy-duty upgrade is manufactured from aircraft-grade AA5052 aluminum with 100% TIG-welded tanks, completely eliminating failure-prone crimped plastic seams and internal O-rings. Featuring an oversized 3-row crossflow tube-and-fin racing core (28-1/4" W x 17-1/2" H), it significantly expands fluid capacity and thermal dissipation surface area. Integrated, high-efficiency transmission and engine oil coolers are built into the end-tanks to stabilize critical driveline fluid temperatures under sustained load.
