The Stock Durango Thermal Bottlenecks

Factory DN-platform radiators rely on plastic end tanks crimped onto a single-row core with rubber gaskets. Under sustained thermal stress from towing and off-road operation with the Magnum series engines, continuous thermal cycling fatigues the polymer, causing hairline fractures, gasket blowout, and severe heat soak during low-speed crawling or heavy throttle applications.

The Engineering Solution

Engineered with a high-capacity 3-row core, this unit utilizes vacuum-brazed aluminum cooling tubes and 100% TIG-welded aluminum end tanks, eliminating epoxy and crimped plastic failure points entirely. The 22.5" x 22" core features cooling rows spaced 3/8" apart packed with 14-16 louvered fins per inch for optimal heat transfer. It includes a built-in 14-3/8" transmission oil cooler (TOC) with a 1.5" driver-side inlet and 1.75" passenger-side outlet to maintain stable transmission and engine temperatures.
