Furthermore, the OEM single-row core lacks sufficient thermal inertia and fluid dwell time, resulting in aggressive coolant heat soak during continuous load on Magnum V6 and V8 powertrains.
The Engineering Solution: All-Aluminum TIG-Welded Crossflow Architecture
This high-performance crossflow unit features a robust 3-row tube core vacuum-brazed to 100% TIG-welded aluminum end tanks, completely eliminating epoxy and brittle plastic fail points. Constructed with a 22.5 in x 22 in core, 3/8-inch tube spacing, and high-density 14–16 fins per inch (FPI), it dramatically increases surface contact area for superior thermal transfer. An integrated 14-3/8-inch internal transmission oil cooler (TOC) ensures regulated automatic gearbox temperatures under heavy-duty cycling.
