High-Output 200-Amp Alternator for 2000-2002 Toyota Tundra (XK30/XK40)
What it Does: The 200-amp high-output alternator replaces the factory charging unit on the 2000-2002 Toyota Tundra to supply stable, increased current capacity for auxiliary lighting, audio gear, and heavy electrical accessories.
The Stock Toyota Tundra Charging Limitations
The factory charging system on the first-generation XK30/XK40 platform relies on an OEM alternator delivering standard output between 80 and 100 amps. When running auxiliary equipment like winches, LED light bars, or heavy electrical loads, the stock stator experiences severe voltage sag at idle. Extended demand forces standard diodes beyond their thermal threshold, leading to premature rectifier breakdown, chronic battery discharge, and under-voltage conditions that strain vehicle electronics.
The Engineering Solution
Engineered for high-draw demands, this 200-amp high-output replacement uses precision-wound heavy-gauge copper windings and high-temp internal diodes to withstand extreme thermal saturation. Housed in a heavy-duty cast aluminum casing designed for rapid heat dissipation, it delivers consistent charging voltage across all operating RPMs. Directly replacing factory unit 27060-0F020, this unit integrates seamlessly with the 2UZ-FE belt drive system without requiring custom bracket modifications.

Frequently Asked Questions & Fitment Warnings
Does this fit the XK30/XK40 Tundra?
Yes, this is a direct fit for the 2000-2002 Toyota Tundra equipped with the 2UZ-FE 4.7L V8 engine; it does not fit 3.4L 5VZ-FE V6 models.
Do I need to upgrade my charging cables?
Installing a heavy-gauge Big 3 charging cable upgrade is strongly recommended to support peak 200-amp flow without creating excessive circuit resistance.
The Toyota Durability Standard
Built to match the rigorous towing and off-road standards of the XK30/XK40 platform, this high-output alternator provides the electrical capacity required for demanding overland setups and heavy-duty utility work.
