When the VQ35DE engine is upgraded with high-draw components—such as dual electric puller fans, high-flow secondary fuel pumps, air suspension compressors, or high-RMS sound systems—the OEM alternator suffers severe voltage drop at idle. Under sustained heat soak in the tight front engine bay, factory internal diodes overheat, causing output degradation, battery drain, and unstable ignition coil firing.
