High-Output 250A Alternator for 2015-2018 Mitsubishi Outlander (GF)
What it Does: The 250-amp high output alternator replaces the low-output factory charging unit on the 2015-2018 Outlander to maintain system voltage stability under high-demand electrical loads.
The Stock Mitsubishi Outlander Charging Deficit
The factory charging system on the GF generation Mitsubishi Outlander utilizes a stock 120-130A unit calibrated solely for standard cabin accessories. When adding high-draw aftermarket equipment—such as auxiliary lighting, power inverters, or aftermarket car audio systems—the OEM stator windings and diodes experience thermal saturation. This leads to severe voltage drop below 12.8V at idle, battery degradation, and strained components unable to keep pace with sustained current demands.
The Engineering Solution
This high-output alternator supplies 250 amps of steady, reliable direct current to support heavy electrical draw. Engineered in the USA, it features heavy-gauge copper windings, an advanced stator configuration, and high-amperage avalanche rectifiers to withstand engine-bay heat soak. Designed specifically for the 4J12 2.4L engine, it prevents line-voltage sag and directly replaces factory units matching OEM reference 1800A288 and A002TX0881A with zero bracket modifications.

Frequently Asked Questions & Fitment Warnings
Does this fit the GF Outlander?
Yes, this is a direct fit for the 2015-2018 Mitsubishi Outlander equipped with the 4J12 2.4L 4-cylinder engine. Does not fit 3.0L V6 (6B31) or 2.0L PHEV hybrid models.
Do I need to upgrade the main charging wire?
A "Big 3" 1/0 AWG wiring upgrade is recommended to handle the maximum 250A current flow safely without thermal line resistance.
The Mitsubishi Reliability Standard
Designed to maintain rock-solid electrical stability, this alternator delivers dependable 14.4-volt power distribution across all driving conditions and heavy auxiliary workloads.
