Heavy-Duty 200A High Output Alternator for 1991-1995 Jeep Wrangler (YJ)
What it Does: The 200-amp high output alternator replaces the low-output factory charging unit on the 1991-1995 Jeep Wrangler to deliver dependable electrical current and prevent voltage drop under heavy auxiliary loads.
The Stock Jeep Wrangler Charging Limitations
The factory charging system on the YJ platform utilized stock units delivering merely 60 to 90 amps of electrical output. Under modern trail demands—including electric recovery winches, auxiliary LED light bars, and onboard air compressors—the stock alternator suffers severe voltage drop, particularly at low crawl RPMs. This chronic deficit results in extreme heat soak across factory diode plates, drained batteries, and premature stator winding failure.
The Engineering Solution
Engineered and assembled in the USA, this high-output replacement yields a continuous 200-amp charging capacity. Built with precision heavy-gauge copper windings, an upgraded heavy-duty rectifier bridge, and premium high-amperage diodes, it ensures stable voltage output under high electrical demands. The housing retains factory mounting geometry to replace original units matching OEM numbers 56005685 and 13341 without bracket modification.
