High-Amp 250A Heavy-Duty Alternator for 2007-2010 Hummer H3 (GMT345)
What it Does: The 250-amp alternator replaces the low-output factory charging unit on the 2007-2010 Hummer H3 to eliminate idle voltage drop and sustain power for high-draw auxiliary off-road equipment.
The Stock Hummer H3 Electrical Bottleneck
The factory 125-amp charging unit on the GMT345 chassis was engineered strictly for baseline cabin electronics, leaving zero reserve capacity for modern overland or utility setups. When running winches, auxiliary LED lighting, dual batteries, or onboard air systems, the stock alternator drops below 12.6 volts at idle. This persistent electrical starvation overheats factory stator windings, shortens lead-acid and AGM battery lifespan, and triggers voltage-threshold trouble codes in the powertrain control module.
The Engineering Solution
Manufactured in the USA, this high-output direct replacement unit increases output to 250 amps, delivering reliable 14.4V regulation and over 150 amps at curb idle. Built with heavy-gauge pure copper windings, a high-efficiency rotor-stator pack, and an integrated heavy-duty avalanche diode rectifier bridge, this unit resists internal thermal breakdown under maximum load. Housed in a precision-cast aluminum case designed to OEM mounting specifications, it dissipates heat rapidly while maintaining structural integrity during extreme engine bay temperatures and severe off-road vibration.

Frequently Asked Questions & Fitment Warnings
Does this fit the GMT345 H3?
Yes, this is a direct fit for the 2007-2010 Hummer H3 equipped with the 3.7L Atlas LLR engine. This unit does not fit 2006 3.5L L52 engines or 2008-2010 5.3L LH8/LH9 V8 models.
Do I need to upgrade my charging cables with this 250A alternator?
Yes, executing a "Big 3" wiring upgrade with minimum 1/0 AWG pure copper cable is required to safely transfer 250 amps without burning the stock fused link.
The Hummer Durability Standard
Engineered for full-throttle trail use, rock crawling, and heavy recovery winching, this alternator provides uninterrupted electrical stability without thermal drop-off.
