High-Capacity 150 Amp Alternator for 1996-1997 Honda del Sol (EH6)
What it Does: The 150 Amp High Output Alternator replaces the factory low-output charging unit on the 1996-1997 Honda del Sol to eliminate voltage drop and sustain aftermarket electrical accessories under high load.
The Stock Honda del Sol Charging System Limitation
Factory EH6 chassis models equipped with SOHC 1.6L engines leave the assembly line with a standard 70 to 75-amp unit. When enthusiasts install high-draw accessories—such as high-flow electric radiator fans, aftermarket audio amplifiers, or auxiliary lighting—the stock stator cannot keep pace. At idle and low RPMs, system voltage frequently plunges below 12.6V, leading to dimming headlamps, compromised ignition dwell time, excessive stator heat soak, and premature battery degradation.
The Engineering Solution
Engineered as a direct-fit replacement for factory Mitsubishi-style units, this heavy-duty 150-amp alternator doubles original charging capacity. Hand-assembled with heavy-gauge copper windings, premium diode rectifiers, and high-temperature internal voltage regulators, it sustains clean, stable voltage from idle through redline. The housing retains factory mounting geometry and single-plug wiring compatibility, requiring zero bracket modification or pulley realignment.
