High-Output 300-Amp Alternator for 2005-2006 GMC Sierra (GMT800)
What it Does: The 300-amp high-output alternator replaces the factory charging unit on the 2005-2006 GMC Sierra to deliver continuous high-amperage electrical current and eliminate voltage drop under heavy auxiliary loads.
The Stock GMC Sierra Electrical Deficit
Factory GMT800 platforms came equipped with OEM AD230 or AD244 alternators rated at only 105 to 145 amps. When running modern work accessories—including winches, snow plows, heavy inverter systems, air compressors, or high-wattage auxiliary lighting—the stock stator cannot keep pace. At idle speeds, factory units suffer severe output decay, causing system voltage to plummet below 12.8 volts. This induces battery discharge, sluggish ignition performance, and premature diode pack failure due to excessive heat soak.
The Engineering Solution
Built in the USA, this heavy-duty 300-amp unit features upgraded high-temperature copper stator windings and heavy-gauge internal avalanche diodes designed to withstand thermal cycling. Delivering substantial charging current even at low engine RPM, it stabilizes system rail voltage to 14.4 volts under load. It bolts directly to the factory bracketry on Vortec platforms, replacing OEM part numbers 10392759, 15200268, and 15263858 without bracket modification.

Frequently Asked Questions & Fitment Warnings
Does this fit the GMT800 Sierra?
Yes, this is a direct fit for the 2005-2006 GMC Sierra equipped with the Vortec 4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, or 6.0L engine.
Do I need to upgrade my battery cables with this unit?
To safely carry the full 300-amp capacity without line resistance, an upgraded 1/0-gauge positive power lead and ground wire upgrade ("Big 3") is strongly recommended.
