High-Amp 300A Replacement Alternator for 2005-2007 Dodge Magnum (LX)
What it Does: The High Output 300 Amp Alternator replaces the factory low-amperage charging unit on the 2005-2007 Dodge Magnum to provide stable voltage regulation and prevent electrical system collapse under heavy auxiliary loads.
The Stock Dodge Magnum Charging Deficit
The factory charging system in the LX chassis Dodge Magnum relies on an OEM alternator rated for only 140 to 160 amps. When running auxiliary audio amplifiers, performance cooling fans, or pneumatic suspension compressors, the stock internal bridge rectifiers overheat. This thermal saturation induces voltage drop down to 11.8V at idle, starving the PCM, causing dimming headlights, accelerating battery plate sulfation, and overloading factory diodes.
The Engineering Solution
This 300-amp unit delivers 165+ amps at curb idle and peaks at 300 amps at operating RPM. Hand-wound with precision hairpin stator technology and heavy-gauge pure copper windings, it minimizes internal resistance. Heavy-duty 12-diode rectifiers and premium high-temperature bearings withstand high-RPM thermal stress, directly solving the heat-soak failure points of stock units replacing 04896803AA and 421000-0251.

Frequently Asked Questions & Fitment Warnings
Does this fit the LX Magnum?
Yes, this is a direct bolt-on fit for the 2005-2007 Dodge Magnum equipped with the 2.7L EER V6 engine. This unit is specifically clocked and mounted for the 2.7L engine and does not fit 3.5L V6, 5.7L HEMI, or 6.1L SRT8 engines.
Do I need to upgrade my wiring with this 300A unit?
Yes, a "Big 3" electrical upgrade using 1/0 AWG cabling from alternator positive to battery, engine ground, and chassis ground is required to support 300 amps without excessive line resistance.
The Dodge Muscle Standard
Built in the USA to handle heavy aftermarket electrical draws, this high-output alternator delivers stable current under wide-open throttle and prevents voltage starvation across modern accessories.
