The Atlas 3.7L inline-5 engine is notorious for brittle plastic PCV/crankcase breather hoses. When pulling the massive factory resonator box off the top of the engine, pull straight up and do not twist forcefully, or you will snap the plastic breather nipple. Also, H3 forums universally agree: since removing the intake exposes the throttle body, take 5 minutes with some throttle body cleaner and a rag to wipe the carbon out of the bore. Phase 1: Removing the Factory Part

Assemble and Mount the Heat Shield: Drop the aftermarket heat shield or new lower airbox into the factory mounting location. Secure it using the supplied hardware and a 10mm socket.
Transfer the MAF Sensor: Using your T20 Torx driver, carefully unscrew the factory MAF sensor from the old intake. Pull it straight out. Do not touch the delicate wire element inside the sensor! Insert the MAF sensor into your new intake tube, ensuring the airflow arrow points toward the throttle body. Secure it with the new supplied screws (do not reuse the coarse factory screws in a metal tube).
