Mechanic’s Pro Tip (The "Gotcha"):
On the 1995-1999 Dodge Neon 2.0L, the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is notoriously fragile. The plastic becomes brittle after decades of engine heat cycles.   5. Connect Hoses and Sensor: Reconnect the IAT sensor harness to the sensor. Connect the included blue vacuum hose from the valve cover breather port to the nipple on the new intake pipe.
  6. Install the Filter: Install the high-flow cone filter onto the end of the pipe. Tighten the clamp snugly using your flathead screwdriver.
  7. Final Tightening: Go back and tighten the clamp at the throttle body and the vibration mount bolt. Ensure the pipe is not rubbing against metal brake lines or the battery, which can cause holes over time.
  8. ECU Relearn: Reconnect the negative battery terminal. Start the engine and let it idle for 5-10 minutes without touching the gas pedal. This allows the Neon’s computer to adjust to the increased airflow.
