The Stock Comanche Thermal Limitation

OEM MJ cooling systems rely on composite plastic end-tanks crimped to thin cores alongside an engine-driven clutch fan. Over time, continuous thermal cycling and off-road chassis flex cause the tank crimps to separate and leak. Furthermore, mechanical clutch fans lose CFM at low engine speeds, leading to chronic coolant heat soak and elevated automatic transmission temperatures during low-range crawling or heavy hauling.

The Engineering Solution

This heavy-duty upgrade features an aircraft-grade aluminum crossflow core that is vacuum-brazed and 100% TIG-welded to eliminate leak-prone gaskets and plastic tanks. Sized at 30.91 in x 10.94 in x 1.02 in, the core integrates an internal transmission oil cooler (TOC) to stabilize gearbox fluid. The included aluminum fan shroud, high-output electric fans, and thermostat relay wiring harness maintain consistent, high-velocity airflow across the entire surface area regardless of engine RPM.
