Factory radiators on 6.4L Power Stroke models rely on composite plastic end tanks crimped onto an aluminum core with elastomer gaskets. Under heavy thermal cycling and frame torsional twist common to Super Duty chassis, these crimp tabs fatigue, causing seam separation, tank cracking, and coolant loss. Additionally, high cylinder pressures and dual EGR heat loads on the 6.4L push stock core capacities beyond their limits, leading to rapid heat soak under sustained grade pulling.
