The Stock Sea-Doo 325 Airbox Restriction

The factory intake system on the Rotax 1630 ACE - 325 engine prioritizes noise reduction and cost-efficiency over optimal volumetric efficiency. In marine environments, the tightly packaged OEM compact airbox is susceptible to severe heat soak, especially during extended high-rpm operation. The factory paper filter media and heavily baffled plastic routing create a turbulent pressure drop in front of the supercharger, effectively starving the compressor of cold, dense air and limiting the top-end thrust response.

The Engineering Solution

This GT40 Marine intake filter upgrade eliminates the bottleneck of the standard 325 compact airbox by utilizing high-flow, low-restriction filtration media. By drawing cooler, denser air directly into the supercharger, the system improves compressor efficiency and throttle response. The filter element provides superior particulate trapping without sacrificing airflow volume, ensuring the Rotax engine operates safely at high boost levels. For maximum performance and appropriate air/fuel ratios, a Stage 1 ECU flash and 91-octane fuel are strongly recommended. Note: Secondary-battery harness routing can impede airbox airflow; verifying harness clearance is required prior to installation.
