O2 Oxygen Sensor Upstream Downstream for GMC Sierra 1500 Yukon (2006-2007) 4.8L

Direct-Fit Oxygen Sensor Kit for 2006-2007 GMC Sierra and Yukon (GMT800 / GMT900)

What it Does: The 4-piece oxygen sensor kit replaces degraded factory upstream and downstream O2 sensors on the 2006-2007 Sierra and Yukon to restore precise air-fuel ratio monitoring, resolve check engine lights, and improve fuel efficiency.

The Stock GMC Sierra,Yukon Sensor Degradation Problem

Factory zirconia O2 sensors on high-mileage GMT800 and GMT900 trucks succumb to severe thermal cycling, silica contamination, and carbon soot accumulation. As internal platinum electrodes foul, response latency spikes. The ECM receives lazy voltage swings, forcing open-loop fueling failsafes or over-fueling rich trims that load the catalytic converters, drop fuel economy, and throw diagnostic trouble codes such as P0135, P0141, or P0420.

The Engineering Solution

This comprehensive set provides matched upstream sensing and downstream catalyst-monitoring sensors engineered for rigorous exhaust environments. Featuring double-laser-welded stainless steel bodies, fast-activating ceramic planar heater elements, and high-temp cross-linked wire insulation, these sensors withstand sustained exhaust gas temperatures over 1,400°F. Precision-calibrated switching speeds guarantee rapid closed-loop ECM feedback, stabilizing fuel trim parameters on the Vortec 4800 (LR4 / LY2).

Frequently Asked Questions & Fitment Warnings

Does this fit the GMT800 / GMT900 Sierra,Yukon?

Yes, this is a direct fit for the 2006-2007 GMC Sierra 1500 and Yukon equipped with the 4.8L V8 (LR4 / LY2) engine. Confirm your vehicle has the 4.8L V8 before ordering; models equipped with 4.3L V6, 5.3L, or 6.0L V8 configurations require distinct harness lengths.

Do I need to calibrate or tune the ECM after installation?

No tuning is required, but clearing existing DTCs and performing an ECM fuel trim reset with a scan tool accelerates closed-loop relearn cycles.

The GMC Heavy-Duty Reliability Standard

Full-size GM work trucks demand rugged reliability under continuous payload and towing stresses; matched four-sensor replacement ensures stable fuel delivery, cooler catalytic operation, and uncompromised pulling power.
