High Output Alternator for Ram 2500 3500 (2011-2016) 6.7L

High-Output 350-Amp Direct-Fit Alternator for 2011-2016 Ram 2500,3500 (DJ/D2)

What it Does: The 350-amp high output alternator replaces the factory charging unit on the 2011-2016 Ram 2500,3500 to deliver sustained, high-amperage electrical current for heavy auxiliary demands and prevent idle voltage drop.

The Stock Ram 2500,3500 Charging System Limitations

Factory alternators on the DJ/D2 platform struggle to maintain adequate voltage when subjected to aftermarket electrical loads like high-draw winches, auxiliary lighting, inverters, and dual-compressor setups. Under sustained high demand or prolonged idle cycles, OEM stators generate extreme thermal stress, leading to premature diode pack failure, rapid battery depletion, flickering auxiliary circuits, and erratic ECM sensor readings caused by sub-13.0V charging dips.

The Engineering Solution

Engineered as a direct bolt-in upgrade, this 350-amp charging unit utilizes precision-wound, heavy-gauge copper stators and a balanced rotor to maximize current output across low and high RPM ranges. High-grade sealed bearings resist dust and bearing whine under high belt load, while a heavy-duty internal voltage regulator delivers consistent 13.5V to 14.5V output to stabilize the vehicle CAN bus. Replaces OEM units matching 4801313AC and 421000-7001 without requiring bracket or harness modification.

Frequently Asked Questions & Fitment Warnings

Does this fit the DJ/D2 2500,3500?

Yes, this is a direct fit for the 2011-2016 Ram 3500 and 2013-2016 Ram 2500 equipped with the 6.7L Cummins ISB diesel; 2011-2012 Ram 2500 applications are excluded.

Do I need to upgrade my wiring for this alternator?

While it plugs directly into the factory harness, upgrading the primary B+ charge lead and engine ground cables to a 1/0 AWG "Big Three" setup is strongly recommended to safely utilize the full 350-amp capacity without line resistance.

The Ram Heavy-Duty Standard

Built for the severe-duty demands of commercial towing and heavy fleet work, this high-output unit supplies relentless electrical stamina so your accessories, winches, and auxiliary gear operate at peak performance without taxing your batteries.
