High-Amp 200A Alternator for 1993-1995 Honda del Sol (EG1/EH6)
What it Does: The 200 Amp High Output Alternator replaces the undersized factory charging unit on the 1993-1995 Honda del Sol to eliminate voltage drop and support high-draw aftermarket electronics.
The Stock Honda del Sol Electrical Bottleneck
Factory alternators equipped on the EG1 and EH6 chassis produce a meager 70 amps. When running modern electronics—including high-wattage sound systems, auxiliary lighting, high-CFM electric cooling fans, or standalone engine management—the stock unit is severely outmatched. Low idle output leads to acute heat soak in the rotor windings, accelerated diode failure, battery depletion, ignition coil voltage starvation, and noticeable headlight dimming in stop-and-go driving conditions.
The Engineering Solution
Engineered for the D15B7 and D16Z6 powerplants, this heavy-duty 200-amp unit delivers steady current with an upgraded heavy-gauge stator, precision avalanche diode rectifier, and efficient internal cooling. Bench-tested under load before boxing, it sustains 14.4V stability even in high-heat engine bays. It mounts directly into the factory Honda bracket using stock pulley alignment and OEM plug orientation, providing a hassle-free drop-in upgrade.
