Heavy-Duty 350-Amp High Output Alternator for 2016-2017 GMC Savana (GMT610)
What it Does: The 350-amp high output alternator replaces the factory charging unit on the 2016-2017 GMC Savana to deliver stable high-amperage current and prevent voltage drop under heavy electrical draw.
The Stock GMC Savana Current Deficit
The OEM charging system on the GMT610 chassis typically outputs between 105 and 145 amps, which quickly falls short when running auxiliary electronics, work equipment, heavy inverters, or commercial upfits. Under continuous load, factory rectifiers suffer heat soak, causing significant thermal voltage drop below 12.8V at idle. This starvation strains the vehicle battery, overheats OEM wiring, and triggers system-wide diagnostic faults across the sensitive electronics of the L96 Vortec 6.0L engine.
The Engineering Solution
Built in the USA, this direct-mount 350-amp alternator features heavy-duty hairpin stator windings and premium high-temperature avalanche diodes to maximize efficiency and minimize heat dissipation. Engineered with precision-balanced internal rotors and dual heavy-duty bearings, this unit stabilizes electrical output above 200 amps at idle while preventing rotational drag under high electrical resistance. It provides direct plug-and-play interchangeability with factory units replacing OE part numbers like 22747894 and 84206550.
