Cold Air Intakes for Toyota 4Runner

Cold air intakes, a short ram, and a throttle-body spacer for Toyota 4Runner, covering 1988-2004 and 2010-2024 2.4L, 2.7L, 3.0L, 3.4L, and 4.0L. Some earlier kits also fit Tacoma, Pickup, or T100, and the 2010-2024 cold air intake also fits FJ Cruiser. See air intakes for Toyota.

What does a cold air intake do on a 4Runner?

It replaces the stock air box with a higher-flow filter and a tube that pulls cooler air. Drivers usually do it for a sharper throttle and a bit more intake sound. It does not add a huge power number by itself.

Will a 4Runner cold air intake cause a check-engine light?

It can, if the sensor is left unplugged or the filter is oiled onto the sensor. Plug the sensor back in, and do not over-oil the filter. A tune is separate and only helps if it is written for your engine. See performance tune for Toyota.

How hard is a 4Runner intake to install?

Most of these are a filter, tube, and clamps in the engine bay, usually a hand-tool job. The short ram is the 1995-1999 2.7L piece. The 2010-2024 truck is the cold air intake or the throttle-body spacer, and a later kit will not fit a 1990s truck.
