Remove the front wheels and skid plates to gain clear access to the differential flanges.

Carefully tap the black dust cap off the center of the wheel hub using a chisel and rubber mallet. Behind the cap, pull the cotter pin and locking retainer to expose the 36mm axle nut. Remove the 36mm nut. If the hub spins, wedge a heavy screwdriver between the wheel studs to hold it stationary.

Move to the backside of the steering knuckle and remove the four bolts securing the lower ball joint to the spindle. This allows the steering knuckle to swing outward. Push the CV splines through the hub assembly, then disconnect the inner CV flange from the front differential to pull the axle completely out.
