Since 1996, the Mini Cooper has featured several different engine sizes and types. These include a 1.3-liter naturally aspirated engine, a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine, a 1.4-liter and a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, as well as a 1.6-liter supercharged engine. In 2008, Mini introduced a 1.5-liter diesel engine, and in 2014, a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine was added. More recently, a hybrid variant was released featuring a 1.5-liter petrol engine and an electric motor.

How much horsepower will I gain?
Results do vary and can sometimes take up to 2 weeks/100 miles to see results due to computer OBD2 learning. Stage 1 recalibrates the ignition and fuel based on the variables such as the fuel octane, ambient air temp and other sensors in addition to driving style.

How does this product work?
Using your OBD on board computer port - plugs right in - our product modifies signals sent to your vehicles ECU computer. The module optimizes functions such as ignition timing, air fuel mixture, fuel maps and produces more power and better gas mileage. The ECU of modern vehicles controls a series of actuators on an internal combustion engine to ensure the optimum running. It does this by reading values from a multitude of sensors within the engine bay, interpreting the data using multidimensional performance maps (Look-up tables), and adjusting the engine actuators accordingly.

My 09 Mini only has 55,000 miles, an aftermarket performance exhaust, and I also only use K&n filters. With that being said after installing the chip correctly (directions are simple) I've noticed increase in torque from start and more power when taking 2nd through 6th gear into the 4500 plus rpm range, overall speed increase. I didn't notice better mpg, but who chips cars for that. Very good customer service and product delivered more than expected for the price. When I do a bit more to the Mini, I will be ordering a higher performance chip. If anyone has a base model Mini, I would recommend trying this chip first.
